Black and white, that’s all Kayla Brooks has been able to see since she was born. In the world that she grew up in, everyone had soul mates and had different bonds connecting with them. Some examples of those bonds include being able to hear each other's thoughts, feeling their emotions, seeing the writing on their skin, and many more. Kayla had the ability to see auras, but only the auras of her soul mates. She didn’t want to die, but the ability to keep her eyes open grew harder and harder as the time passed by. “Please, please don’t leave me yet, I just found you. Keep your eyes open.” The boy whispered into her ear as the tears kept coming out. Kayla was losing her battle with sleep but fought against it with everything she had. The pain in her stomach has grown numb now, and breathing has become a challenge her for as well, however she fought through the drowsiness because she wanted to live. She wanted to live with her soulmate, family, and for herself, she wanted to explore new things and make new memories with her new found lover. So she fought. The red and blue lights bounced off the walls in the cafe, but she couldn’t hear the sirens, everything was becoming blurred, paramedics rushed in with a stretcher, they pulled Felix away from her. He didn’t want to let go but knew that he had to in order for them to save her. They picked her up diligently and placed her on the stretcher. Medics raced her to the ambulance, lifting her and was about to close the doors to the
