How would you feel if your 18, 19, or 20-year-old son or daughter passed away one night from an accident involving alcohol? I believe the drinking age should stay at 21 years of age for many reasons. People know that alcohol can damage your body if it’s not used correctly, but it doesn’t seem to stop teenagers and adults from drinking a lot. It’ll be talking about the effects of driving under the influence, how alcohol effects you at a young age, and also why it should stay the same. If you're a good parent or guardian, you should try your best to keep your children away from alcohol until they are 21 years old. Nationwide Insurance had a survey about 10 years ago that was about the legal drinking age. Seventy-eight percent of the adults that were surveyed said that they are for keeping the legal drinking age at 21 and seventy-two percent of adults believe that lowering the drinking age would possibly cause alcohol to become more available to the youth, (60 Minutes.) Nineteen years ago, back in 1999, New Zealand ended up changing its drinking age from 20 years old to 18 years old.
