Boom Let One Slip Away ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – The second night in a row produced the same result, as the Altamonte Springs Boom suffered a 3-2 loss to the Sanford River Rats, at Lake Brantley High School, Wednesday night. They now sit one and one-half games out of first place, with 12 games left in the regular season. They also wasted another quality start by their starting pitcher, this time it was Matt Hardy (Nova Southeastern), who took the hard-luck loss. “I was in a really good groove the first six innings.”
The writing in the chapters is very detail oriented and it makes it very easy to imagine what is going on. A lot of times throughout the book it seemed like I was right there, or it seemed like I was watching a scene from a movie.
Scott Monks introduces the reader to his book about boys and gangs, growing up in an area where it is a norm to be in a gang and leadership in a gang. Introducton: The story of the book, Boyz “r “us deals with Mitchel, (Mitch) and gangs in the 1990’s in Marrickville, an inner suburb of Sydney. The toughness of boys growing up in extreme circumstances, poverty, one parent families, dysfunctional families. Juvenile delinquencies of boys and siblings, assaults and wilful damage.
It is obvious that their tone is negative. They don’t feel positive about the topic and use their writing to show it. They also use informal language to add more depth to the teenage characters. This is something that makes this book more enjoyable and relatable. Imagery is also used.

The film Boyz N the Hood is a story about life in South Central Los Angeles. The film was wrote and directed by John Singleton in 1991. I chose this movie because of its relevance to the course and how it reflects pop culture in that time period. The opening line in the movie “one out of every twenty-one Black American males will be murdered in their lifetime” really catches the audience attention (Nicolaides & Singleton, 1991). This movie goes into detail and shows the life of three young males living in the hood of Los Angeles battling a life surrounded by drugs, violence, and questions of race.
This book is properly for readers from 6-7 years old. This storybook is perfect for beginning ESL students because the theme is familiar for them and also the purpose of this, which is none other than entertain children during the reading process and in an indirect way the author is trying to teach
The writers ' fundamental objective is to delight and engage the audience, as well as to take the reader on an adventure brimming with intense plot twists. The creator accomplishes her objective. For me the book is composed clearly because of its simple yet y descriptive
As Dr. Seuss once said, "You have BRAINS in your HEAD. You have FEET in your SHOES. You can steer yourself in any DIRECTION you CHOOSE". This quote applies to school in many ways. If you have ever used the statement, "They were doing it too" or "He made me do it" then you are wrong because as this quote says, you make your own decisions even if you are trying to impress your friends.
A hot headed mother and an immature father try to do the impossible as they raise four mischievous boys, who challenge the game of life day by day. The Malcolm in the Middle TV sitcom is unordinary from other family orientated television series as each episode corresponds with real world problems the household face but reach solutions in an unorthodox manner. Louis and Hal, the mother and father, are pushed far beyond their limits as they try raising 4 boys, Francis, Reese, Malcolm, and Dewey. Furthermore, Malcolm is the main character as the show is named after him, is the middle child of the 3 brothers whom live at home (Reese is the oldest and Dewey is the youngest). The family encounters unpredictable complications that once they surpass
In this case, though it is more simple than the last book it still represents lots of the story, I think. Composition: I am able to notice that all the elements are cut very neatly. For example, the flowers behind the title, the large gold elements and this doesn’t make the viewer being able to fill in the edges, which probably prevents the side issues that they draw the attention to themselves. Color is the strongest element of composition on this
It is great to have so many visuals because it really helps the information stick in your child's mind; the book gives many examples for each idea presented. Textual features: The words are not in traditional places as you see above. There are charts and the words move around the page to help better explain the topic at hand. For example, in the image above you see the font, boldness and size of the font change based on which hands of the clock it is talking about; this helps your child make connections that the hour is worth the most and the seconds are worth the least.
In conclusion john green has written a marvellous book he has used the universal them so most can relate. It is hilarious, you won’t be able to put it down. It’s also so incredibly well written you could read again and again. I suggest that for all young adults this book is a must
