Revolver Entertainment is known for being a producer and distributor UK films that have predominantly purport to represent the working-class demographic and the lifestyle of London youth - especially British working-class youth. A main example of this is Kidulthood (released in 2006, directed by Menhaj Huda) which is based in West London, in suburban areas similar to those in North/East/South London. This film has focussed on a narrow representation of London Youth, which although negative and at times controversial, has proved very popular with working-class youth audiences who have been starved of mainstream representation in recognized contemporary cinema. The opening sequence of Kidulthood makes it clear right from the start that the action is set in a world where tension and aggression are part of everyday life.
