In the book, “Crabs Dig Holes According to Size of Their Shells” by James McPherson He talks about his ‘shell” which is his room, and crabs which is himself. The story is mostly about him being alone and him seeming like he is sad about something in life, which brings me to my thought of what his message is. My thought of his message is McPherson’s message is that at one point in life you are going to hit a low in life then develop a shell you want to hide in. My first quote is “Something was denying me peace because I was denying it from range and meaning” To paraphrase the quote the keywords are deny, peace and something. In the quote the word deny means that he is denying his own peace by something in life.

The story, What, of This Goldfish, Would You Wish? by Etgar Keret, portrays the theme of making the right choice means forfeiting someone’s contentment for the benefits of others. The author emphasizes how Sergei unselfishly restored the health of his sister, Sveta’s son, and a stranger named Yoni instead of using the wishes for himself or for personal desires. In the film Blackfish by Gabriela Cowperthwaite, the scene in which Seaworld trainer Kenneth Peters, almost died when he was repeatedly pulled and dragged under the water by the killer whale kasatka, was by the most breathtaking and disturbing footage presented throughout the film. Based on this scene, the director is arguing that the captivity of Killer whales is inhumane, because the emotions humans contain and express are equivalent or inferior to those of animals, which can lead to extreme mental instability. Similarly Mark twain also touches upon the ideas of animals being equal or superior towards humans in “The Lowest Animal”. Furthermore, Twain brilliantly and satirically describes the animal kingdom and the placement of humans on it. He argues that Animals are the lower species when he states that “ the higher animals have no religion.
