Final Draft
My comparison essay is between King Arthur and Benjamin Carson. Both are great men that started out with barely anything for them to build upon. They were raised with almost nothing to become known all over the world. Both had help in their journey to greatness from a mother, a teacher, and even a wizard. They are great men, and they both earned their greatness.
Both King Arthur and Ben Carson had some help on their way to greatness. In the case of King Arthur, he had Merlin and Archimedes to help him. He also had all of the creatures that he encountered to learn from (White). Ben Carson was encouraged by his mother to learn. His mother didn’t know how to read so she encouraged him to become someone great and to learn more than she did. Carson then went on to many universities and colleges where he learned about neurosurgery (Carson).

They were both looked down on by their peers and struggled to get where they are now. King Arthur had no ancestors that the castle knew of that were nobility. Yes, he was raised in the castle, but only because he was the adopted son of Sir Ector (White). Ben Carson grew up in a time when a lot of people were racist toward people with darker skin. These made a very unstable childhood for both King Arthur and Ben Carson (Carson).
Even though they both had a lot of difficulties growing up, they both went on to being much greater than almost everyone would have thought. King Arthur went from being looked down on by all of his peers to becoming one of the greatest kings in England. He was especially looked down on by Sir Ector because he was not his son and not of nobility and he had to care for him (White). Ben Carson went from having almost nothing and his race being looked down on to becoming one of the greatest neurosurgeons in the world. He was not popular at school but he worked hard in his classes to get where he is
