December 31st 1648, our king, King Charles I is being put on trial tomorrow. People around my town are accusing him of being a tyrant and traitor, worst of all an enemy to the commonwealth of England. I myself have no opinion in his trail and will not speak my opinion to any living being. All I really I am one of the one hundred and thirty-five judges attending the king’s trail. I have heard that many judges may not show, in fear of being associated with the trail. January 1st 1649, the time has come for King Charles I’s trail. Only sixty-eight of the one hundred showed for the trail, me included. As I looked for familiar face around the room, I noticed that the room filled with soldiers.
