‘No place indeed should murder sanctuarize; Revenge should have no bounds” (IV, VII, 124-125). King Claudius has no boundaries for any such case of revenge to claiming a spot on the throne. King Claudius an antagonist is a cruel, unforceful, and neglect ant king who changes throughout the storyline. King Claudius shows his attitude and passion to be king through his character as well as his appearance.

King Claudius starts to say, “Though yet of Hamlet our dear brother's death the memory be green, and that it us befitted to bear our hearts in grief, and our whole kingdom To be contracted in one brow of woe, Yet so far hath discretion fought with nature That we with wisest sorrow thinke on him Together with remembrance of ourselves (I, II, 1-7). His sneaky words and long thoughtful speech is nothing less than a trick to cover up the way that he has taken the wife, position in the throne, and the castle which used to belong to his brother that the has now killed by pouring poison in his ear. Hamlet says “Nothing but to show you how a king may go a progress through the guts of a beggar” (IV, III, 28). Hamlet is going to describe that king Claudius demonstrates that a king can move through the bowels of a beggar.
