ing Tuts Death Mask is an ancient artefact that was discovered in 1925 by British Archaeologist Howard Carter. The Death Mask was discovered in Thebes, Egypt in the Valley of the Kings inside his four-room tomb; tomb KV62. This was the traditional burial place of his predecessors. It was thought to be created in 1323 B.C. specifically for King Tut but later it was discovered that it was meant for his step mum Nefertiti. King Tuts tomb was quite small for a King and alongside the discovery that the death mask was for his step-mother, has placed the theory that he died unexpectedly and they didn’t have time to build him a grand tomb.
