People get mad and that’s a thing that happens to everybody. However to which point can your emotions drive you to do? As emotions overwhelm people, they can cause the person to do things that are not what they actually meant to do. I’ve recently read a book called, The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness. From this, Todd and Manchee could've easily overpowered and killed her. However, Todd rethinks this situation and gives her a chance. Even after getting snuck attack upon (page 72), he still manages to keep composure and become calmer. You can see how he tries to calm himself down on page 73, “‘Hey,’ I say. It’s later revealed that Prentisstown is the reason that his mum, Jessica Elizabeth, was killed (199 & 393). As he held that machete of his, he seemed to be out of control. He wasn’t being rational about it. After Hildy cools the situation, out of relief, he just starts crying. But even after that, it seemed like Matthew just couldn’t let Todd go. As Todd cleans up the barn like he was told to, Matthew uses that opportunity to ambush him (197). This time, without Hildy to stop Matthew’s outrageous emotions, someone had to act. As soon as Todd provokes him, Matthew loses it and attacks Todd immediately. From that, we can assume that
