While knights and samurai seem very similar, samurai are superior when it comes to combat. But first I must explain what a samurai and knight are. Samurai where the warriors of Japan who fought for their daimyo and were extremely loyal and couldn’t function without a master. Knights were the warriors of europe and wore heavy shining armour and filled the same purpose as the samurai. So, while knights and samurai have many similarities, in a one on one battle, the advantage would be to the samurai and this can be seen in their weapons, training, and armour. An important advantage of the samurai is the weapons they wield. In the warriors video it says that the samurai katana was thin, sturdy, had a better grip, and was 42 inches. While the knight’s sword was 48 inches and was thicker. This helped the samurai because their sword was easier to control and longer swords in closer range were harder to control. Something else that helps the samurai was in the Japan articles where they said samurai used bows and had an entire code about using the bow so they would naturally be more skilled. This helps the samurai because it gives them more experience and the upper hand because their training was always rigorous while the knights started with riding a pony.
