Kristjana Popovski is currently pursuing a Computer Science degree at Binghamton University. Prior to attending, Ms. Popovski resided overseas in Europe with her two parents. Born in Albania, Ms. Popovski migrated to Italy with her family when she was five years old. After being entered into and winning the lottery Popovski had to make the arduous to immigrate to the United States, a decision which granted Popovski the ability to “build herself up from the bottom”. Once settled in America Popovski discovered computing through the computers she had utilized in grade school Eventually, she fabricated a Tumblr for herself; assembling and designing her own website ignited her passion for web design and computing. During her attendance at Binghamton University, Ms. Popovski has completed a variety of projects that will aid in her future efforts. Popovski gained team building experience from the Tower of Hanoi project. As she worked on her Gradient project she gained experience working with artificial intelligence, which ties closely with her overall career goals. Besides participating in various projects, Ms. Popovski also participates in a multitude of on campus activities. She is active in clubs like HackBU and Women in computing. She also invests her time to community service through Hinman, her housing college. As a member of these clubs Popovski is able to enlarge her network of computing associates. As a member of women in computing she is able to get help with job prep to prepare herself for her intended industry. During the community service she performed for Hinman, Popovski has participated in a National park clean up as well as aiding College counsel to better organize their dining halls. Although not directly related to computing these experiences further her communication and leadership skills. Off campus Popovski has been employed as an accountant. Despite the differences in accounting and computer science, the occupation has given Ms. Popovski several work related skills. They may not have been writing code, but her job as an account led to the development of time management, and delegation skills.
