Throughout history our world has been endangered by cults, good or bad dealing with witchcraft, murders, and cults revolving their religion. A cult is “a small group that is not part of a larger and more accepted religion and that has beliefs regarded by many people as extreme or dangerous - Merriam Webster.” Cults in the past were reported about anger, spiritual issues, attacking, murders etc. Going through our worlds past there are many significant cults that made a drastic change in today’s world. Certain cults from the past are still around in today’s time. All cults are bad influences but the most common are the KKK also known as the Ku Klux Klan, Scientology cult and the Heaven’s Gate cult.

This form of cult believes in brainwashing, fraud, and attempts of financial ruin. Scientology’s cult is formed around the way the humans are built and their human psyche, along with the belief of alien existence. Suing people who don’t believe or speak wrong of them in public events, and creating a massive global corporation of their religious belief is something tey do. This cult isn’t based on killing or witchcraft. What makes this cult so scary is the way they believe in the form of religious practices. Church of Scientology was created in purpose to being transformed into a religion, trying to create a religion based on the practices in science and theoretical readings that can eventually take over the world. By this time in 1953, a man named Ron Hubbard combined three churches known as “Church of American Science”, “Church of Scientology” and the “Church of Spiritual Engineering” for the purposes of research to the ways the world works. This cult has been around from the 16th century to the present day trying to find religious reasons through science and hypnosis. The Church of Scientology creates a bad influence on people today due to the brainwashing fraud and financial ruin that they cause among the people who don’t believe in what they believe in. This cult was discovered by a man named Marshall Applewhite in 1974. Heaven’s Gate cult members believe that Earth was going to be as they called it “recycled” and that the only way to survive the cleaning of Earth was to leave Earth before it was wiped clean. Members of this cult believed that to be eligible to become saved by the leaders, they have to be released of everything that connected them to Earth. Giving up their family, friends, sexuality, jobs, money, and all their possessions to disconnect themselves from the planet. The Heaven’s Gates members become a part of Mass suicides without even knowing about them. Marshall Applewhite told 38 of his very own followed to commit suicide in order to have their soul aboard a craft that he believed was heading towards Earth and could save them from when the Earth become wiped clean. When their bodies were found they were dressed identical, in black t-shirts, sweat pants and Nike athletic sport shoes. This by the cops was the way they were able to identify them as the Heaven Gates cult. As a mass suicide that was classified as closing the gates of heaven. After the mass suicide in 1997, the same year in May, 2 months later, 2 more people who were members of the cult later committed suicide, one survived but immediately killed himself after he survived in February 1998.
