Scientology Scientologist belief is that when they die their souls will be “born again into the flesh of another body (Rastogi, 2008). Their central beliefs are that each human is an immortal spiritual being known as a thetan and that the “meat bodies” we inhabit are merely vessels we shed when we die. When you accept to become a Scientologist, it is mandatory that you sign a contract which pledges a billion years of service throughout successive lives. In Scientology, the notion of God is expressed as the Eighth Dynamic-the urge toward existence as infinity (Church of Scientology, 2017).

There are many stark differences between the two religions, one is that Scientologist’s do not believe that Jesus is the highest authority, they believe in the teachings of a science fiction writer, Ron L. Hubbard. Another difference is that Scientologist think that God is irrelevant and that Scientology alone is relevant. Finally, each of these religions have different views of Salvation; Scientologist think that man is good, but “engrams” prevent him from reaching his full potential. When man is finally released from the engrams, he begins to live a life on a higher level in terms of his own human accomplishments. Christians believe that man needs to be saved from sin and be given new life, which is attainable from God through faith in Jesus Christ.
