The first branch of Ku Klux Klan was founded in 1866 at the end of the Civil War in Pulaski, Tennessee. Majority of the people in this group were Confederate Army. The first leader or grand wizard of the Klan was Confederate general “Nathan Bedford Forrest.” The plan was run by the order of grand dragons, grand titans, and grand cyclopses. After the 13th amendment was passed, the slavery in the United States was abolished. At that time a group of white people started attacking black people and also the white people who supported the blacks. This group of people does not want the blacks and the whites who supported blacks to be treated on par with them. The goal of the Ku Klux Klan was to prevent blacks from economic opportunities and to resist that northern influence in the south. By 1870 this Ku Klux Klan group was very violent and they have branches in almost every state in South. At this time their attacks were including bombing, shootings of blacks and white activist. “In the year of 1965 president, Lyndon Johnson publicly announced to arrest Klansmen who have a connection with the murder of four female Civil right workers in Alabama.” From that time Klan's violence became isolated and the number of Klan's active members became less.
