Potzgo further explained that when Ashley and Kylie’s dad, Wally Scott was the judge, they didn’t have to do much and they had it made. When Judge Hadzick took over he started doing things different and he made them work and they weren’t happy about that. Potzgo remembers Ashley Scott asking Judge Hadzick if he was planning on getting rid of everyone in the courtroom who worked for her father and Hadzick told her he wasn’t getting rid of anyone and then Ashley asked Hadzick if she would get work out of his courtroom and Hadzick told her she would get as much as the other constables in his courtroom. Potzgo thought Kylie was mad when she wasn’t temporary appointed judge to take over when her father retired.

That’s the way that Ray treats Jonathan. Jonathan isn’t a person who is going anywhere, and Ray doesn’t want him to go anywhere, because all he requires from Jonathan is amusement. If Jonathan becomes a better person, he won’t be as amusing to Ray, so it is possible that unconsciously Ray tries to stunt him from growing into a better person. Ray and Clare don’t even react when Jonathan was found like this by Emily. That they keep letting Jonathan to live with them even though he acts in such a disgusting manner is ridiculous.
Afterwards she notices the time it takes for the interview. Sarah and Jim believe that Jay worked with the investigators to clean up his story. Sasha has their life planned and knows, if everything goes smoothly, what they will be doing. For instance, the attorney’s office offers Richard a plea bargain after almost a year of back and forth. Debbie states, “I'm a little frustrated…I just want it to be done with” (254). At that point, everyone was tired of how long the sentencing had stretched out. Sasha has left for MIT but Richard was still in juvenile detention even after almost a year since the fire.
He was expecting comfort or an apology, but instead he was threaten by the defendant. After John and Lorraine were arrested, John tells Lorraine “My father says I have to go to a psychiatrist.” (Zindell 151) This would show that John’s parents, or at least his dad, set boundaries that have punishments. However, later on in that sentence, Lorraine comforts John telling him that his dad would forget about the punishment before it was put to action. John then goes on to talk about how his dad reacted when the police showed up saying, “Bore didn’t even look mad” (Zindel 151).
Stephanie, was Jay’s girlfriend and Adnan’s close friend during the event. We agree with Schilt’s claim that focusing on her may help with the case in regards to figuring out whether Adnan is actually guilty of murder or not. If Koenig were to just focus on Stephanie and give further depth into her views regarding the event that took place, some important testimony questions could have been answered about the case, but because she does not, it leaves for a lot of loopholes that Sarah and Dana are now trying to piece together on their own by doing unofficial investigator work

This quality to a person is negative in many ways, but it will give one respect. On the other hand, Holden’s fearful disposition is exemplified when he ponders about what he would do if someone stole his gloves, he describes the confrontation as such: “I’d have the damn gloves right in my hand and all, but I’d feel I ought to sock the guy in the jaw or something -- break his goddamn jaw. Only I wouldn’t have the guts to do it.
