Unregulated capitalism was a negative aspect for industrialization because of the what happened to the government and the senate and because of the wages and how unfair they were. Unregulated Capitalism was negative during Industrialization in the Gilded Age because, monopolist had more power than the government. According to ¨The standard oil Octopus Cartoon¨ by Udo Keppler, September 7, 1904, in Puck magazine, there is a ¨squid¨ that represents industrialization, the squid has the White house and the senate under his tentacles. This shows that the squid is in control and the squid represents monopolist and monopolist control a lot of things back then.

However there were some positives about the Industrial Revolution; which people will most likely argue about. Without a doubt, industrialization was one of the biggest factors in how the United States developed. It gave us the means of mass production, better transportation, and eventually the consumerist society that the United States is today. Industrialization did drastically change American society, but did it change America for the better? Did it do more good than bad? While industrialization did lead to multiple social and economic problems, the advantages significantly outweigh the disadvantages.
In the book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, education plays a substantial role in what occurs throughout the book. Many major events are related to people not understanding what is happening to them. Skloot brings up the topic ’Lack of Education,’ frequently and this affected Henrietta's treatments, and how her family viewed the situation, and how the black community viewed scientist overall. In many occasions lack of education causes a major event to happen, “she didn't write much, and she hadn't studied science in school,”(pg 16) with little education Henrietta had no idea what was wrong with her. Without Henrietta or her family knowing symptoms of certain diseases Henrietta does not go to the hospital till the end.
Poverty in Europe from 1450 to 1700 was a huge issue that stuck around for centuries. The wars that took place during this time always seemed to negatively affect the poor the most. The poor, consisting of the majority of the European population, was never taken into consideration during these wars which is ironic considering these wars were caused in the name of religion. This situation, combined with weak leadership and in many countries a heavy taxation system, such as those found in England under the leadership of James I and his son Charles I, or under the leadership of absolute monarchs like Louis XIV, prevented the poor from rising in social status. The way people regarded “the poor” in Europe from 1450-1700 differed significantly based

They were forced to arrive on time and they couldn’t fall behind with their work because if they did they were whipped and punished.
