MacBeth is a not so typical novel written in 11th century Scotland about a husband and a wife, greedy for a sense of power and authority. The two of them will come together only to devise a sly and barbarous plan to eliminate whomever it takes, to attain the throne. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth have a very peculiar marriage, as displayed frequently throughout the entire play. Their marriage is like a roller coaster with high points full of love and compassion and low points where they were consumed in depression and selfishness.

MacBeth and Lady MacBeth do the same except, in a very different and abnormal way. The high points of their relationship, where they felt the closest were after the murders, not something people usually bond over. When MacBeth killed Duncan Lady MacBeth was proud and MacBeth was content with himself for impressing his lady and making her happy. Neither of them thought anything of the murder because they had both just gotten everything they wanted. The worst points of their marriage were when they were almost caught, or when MacBeth began to feel guilty for his actions. Lady MacBeth also had a fit with MacBeth when he ordered the death of his dear friend Banquo because she hadn’t planned it, she knew there were flaws in the cleaning up of the act and that the chance of them being caught had just gotten a lot larger. This was a poor marriage built on lies and destruction, they didn’t love each other, they only used each other. MacBeth was finally murdered by Macduff after he had Lady MacDuff and their children killed, and Lady MacBeth was waiting for him in
