Many of the forces that influence Macbeth’s decision to kill Duncan are external forces applying pressure on Macbeth. In Act 1: Scene 5, she receives the letter from Macbeth and she says “Yet I do fear thy nature; It is too full o’ th’ milk of human kindness”, she knows that he will end up not wanting to go through with their plan. Although he could have said no she still pushed him to proceed. Maybe if Macbeth would’ve put his foot down instead of cowering down and doing whatever Lady Macbeth said, he wouldn’t be in the predicament of having to kill his friends that he is in now. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are much like Adam and Eve.
Lady Macbeth convinces Macbeth into killing Duncan and blaming it on the servants. However, this is not true. Lady Macbeth did not influence Macbeth into the thought of murdering his king. It was Macbeth’s own free will. Macbeth is the sole reason that all of this turmoil has happened, not Lady Macbeth. Yes, Lady Macbeth is conniving, but she did not play a significant role in the actual murder of the king.
Macbeth committed murder to King Duncan for his love of his wife. Lady Macbeth wanted her husband Macbeth to commit murder for her own evil ambitions. She wanted her husband, Macbeth to kill Duncan so Macbeth will become king of Scotland and she will become queen (Act 1, Scene 6, Lines 16-31) She manipulates her husband into killing King Duncan by calling her husband a coward .(Act 1,Scene 5, Lines 44-50)
In act four of Shakespeare's "Macbeth" Macbeth murders most of a noble man's family out of impulse and paranoia. He suspected said nobleman of plotting against him, and much like the murder of his friend Banquo, he killed him before he got the chance. But this murder is not like the ones before it, this one is much more sinister. The man Macbeth suspected, Maduff, was suspect because he refused to show up to any events that Macbeth attended, and when Macbeth went to ask the witches they warned him Macduff was to be cautioned. This time Macbeth decides right away that Macduff must go.
Macbeth is More Responsible In Shakespeare’s play “Macbeth” Macbeth is seen to be as the one responsible for King Duncan’s murder, as Macbeth’s hands were the ones that actually killed King Duncan. However, while Macbeth may be thought of as ultimately responsible for his actions, but there are other influences that actually show on a closer inspection of the text, the three main influences to his decision are Lady Macbeth, himself, and the witches. This is (in my opinion) convincing evidence that Macbeth is completely responsible for the murder of King Duncan.
She pushed Macbeth into killing Duncan. Lady Macbeth had an opportunity to kill Duncan herself, but Duncan reminded her too much of her father “Had he not resembled my father as he slept, I had done’t ”( act 2 sc 2 lines 16-17) “Glamis thou art, and Cawdor, and shalt be what thou art promised. Yet do I fear thy nature; It is too full o' th' milk of human kindness to catch the nearest way. Thou wouldst be great, Art not without ambition, but without the illness should attend it,” Lady Macbeth (act1 sc5 lines 15-20). After hearing this, Macbeth decided to murder Duncan.
Macbeth evidently undergoes a mental process by which he come round to the idea or murdering Duncan. He does this as a result of his wife’s manipulation, her leverage being his manliness. Without the role of Lady Macbeth, the murder of King Duncan would never have occurred in the play. Lady Macbeth had already been plotting for the murder since she received the letter concerning the three prophecies by the witches. Although Macbeth had sinister thoughts about having the throne, Macbeth would have never dared to take it upon himself to kill King Duncan and steal the throne from
Lady Macbeth plans to invite king Duncan over for dinner, but really she is convincing Macbeth to murder him. She influences him to kill Duncan because he is the only one standing in the way of Macbeth becoming king. Lady Macbeth plans the killing but convinces Macbeth to do the dirty deed. Lastly, Lady Macbeth is one of the causes of Macbeth’s failure because she repeatedly questions Macbeth’s manhood until she persuades him to make a bad choice. “When you durst do it then you were a man” (1.7.53-58).
In the play of Macbeth, there are some characters that could be responsible for Duncan’s death. I personally think Lady Macbeth is the cause of Duncan's murder. She is the most ambitious to kill the king in the beginning of the play, pressuring Macbeth. Lady Macbeth was persuasive of driving Macbeth to commit the murder. She manipulates him to go through with the murder even though he was very doubtful about it.
She was so paranoid over the ordeal that she eventually killed herself. Even though she died before Macbeth, she still had an influence on what he did. Eventually, it leads to his death and treason. In conclusion, Lady Macbeth is more responsible for King Duncan’s murder, and Macbeth’s treason, than Macbeth himself.
On the seemingly quiet eve of the 15th of August, King Duncan of Scotland was assassinated in his sleep. King Duncan was celebrating the death of the vulgar rebel MacDonald at the Thane of Cawdor’s Castle briefly before he was killed. MacDonald was killed by the newly appointed Thane of Cawdor, Macbeth, during combat against the Norwegians.
