In the play Macbeth which was written by William Shakespeare, it starts off with three witches telling a General whose name is Macbeth a prophecy. They give him a prophecy about him being king, Macbeth’s wife Lady Macbeth manipulates Macbeth. Macbeth ends up killing the king and the king's sons runaway. Macbeth becomes king and kills more people out of fear that they will take the throne. The people of Scotland are suffering so a character named Macduff goes and gets Duncan's heir Malcolm. Malcolm then overthrows Macbeth and becomes king. Lady Macbeth is strong, greedy, and ruthless. Lady Macbeth was driven by greed for power and in order to achieve it she becomes ruthless and later on feels guilty about everything that happens.

First, Lady Macbeth is ruthless because she talks about how she would kill her baby while smiling at her if she said she was going to kill the baby. Next, “I have given suck, and know how tender 'tis to love the babe that milks me. I would, while it was smiling in my face, have plucked my nipple from his boneless gums and dashed the brains out had I so sworn as you have done to this (Shakespeare 1.7.54-59a)”. Finally, She is talking about how she has nursed a baby before and she knows how it feels to love the baby and she would pull her nipple out of it’s mouth while it smiled at her and smash it’s brains in if she said she was going to do that. First, Lady Macbeth is ruthless and quickly comes up with a plan to kill the king even though he is a kind person to her and gives her gifts and her husband honorable titles. Next, Lady Macbeth upon hearing about the witches prophecy she quickly decides that her husband will be king and makes a plan on how they will get away with killing him and also framing other people who are innocent. Finally, Lady Macbeth wants her husband to be king and she said she will make him king because he is too kind to do anything bad to others, she plans how to kill a kind and honorable person and she knows it’s wrong she even mentions that she would kill her child if she said she was going
