The Weak Minded Lady Macbeth Cruelty, deception, manipulation, are all traits of a weak person. “Alack, I am afraid…” (II, ii, 9-13). Lady Macbeth states this expressing her weakness when it comes to committing evil deeds. In the play The Tragedy of “Macbeth,” the main character Macbeth receives a prophecy from three witches saying he would be king. Macbeth’s wife, Lady Macbeth, pushes him over the edge and manipulates him into murdering the king. Lady Macbeth does many evil things throughout the play, but the guilt and her weakness causes her to crack under pressure.
