Common Enemies Create Friendships Mariam and Laila become friends due to Rasheed’s abuse towards them after Laila gave birth to Aziza and they are mistreated the same way. They develop trust, companionship, and understanding amongst each other and start to accept each other’s company throughout their suffering.
