Anthem is a good book about the future and their own versions of a Utopian society. This novel is all about independence and how options are limited. The question asked is if you think Equality’s eventual assessment of his sins is correct. My answer to this question is, he felt as if his sins taught him more.
Equality 7-2521 doesn’t like what the council of vocations assigned his job for the rest of his life. He was always different from his brothers and people look at him like. What genre of literature would you say teens are into the most? Turns out teens tend to turn to dystopian societies, now do you know why? Teens these days are just getting darker in all types of ways one of the ways they are getting darker is they are starting to enjoy darker genres of literature and movies. One of the ways to show you why they can relate to these stories is by talking about the movie The Giver based off the book by Lois Lowry directed by Phillip Noyce and the book Anthem written by Ayn Rand. Now teens these days like dystopian societies and one reason is because of how they can relate to them and for there darker nature.

William Ellery Channing, a poet and preacher, stresses the significance of staying true to oneself and not being succumbed to be another being. Similar to Channing’s statement, Equality 7-2521 found the importance of embracing the freedom to think, isolation, and individualism in the midst of being in a collective society. In the end of Ayn Rand’s novella Anthem, Equality 7-2521’s assessment of solitarily expressing his thoughts is that it is not a sin anymore; he is correct because he is free to believe whatever he wants to, learns that he is an individual with purpose, and realizes that no one can control him.
This dreaming is what pushes her to continue working for Mumtaz in the Happiness House. An individual in an authoritarian socialist society has no ability to prosper because it is in the best interest of the government to keep the people down. This allows for easy control over the people by the government. In Anthem, you are held back as an individual and are not allowed to prosper because goes against your brothers. Since the people of the barbarous Four Kingdoms don 't understand nuclear technology or the science behind it, they assume it comes from a supernatural source. In a sense, Asimov is playing off the idea that before people understood how lightning worked they chalked it up to Zeus.
The first theory for the ethical analysis is divine command theory. This theory suggests that morality is dependent upon God, and that moral obligation consists in obedience to God’s commands. Divine command theory includes the claim that morality is ultimately based on the commands or character of God (Austin). By applying this theory to Fischer Homes’ current situation, it can be possible to claim that Fischer Homes was instructed by God to hire these subcontractors with undocumented employees, because they were poor and needed a job to support their family. If this was indeed the thought process of the Fischer Homes’ employees that turned their heads to the hiring of undocumented workers, then it is not far-fetched to apply the divine command theory to the current situation.
The statement “Loyalty is hard to find. Trust Is easy to lose. Actions speak louder than words.” by Ayn Rand clearly state the main idea about Hamlet and also agree with my own opinion in the real life. One of the most important theme in the book Hamlet is loyalty.
If she didn’t treat the girls so poorly, one can assume Mumtaz would not hold the same position of power. While other characters in this book share the cruelness of Mumtaz, not all of the women in Lakshmi’s life put their needs above others to reach their goals. Ama, Lakshmi’s mother, exemplifies the traditional “good” female role. To understand what I mean by this, one would have to define “good”. I use the word in the purest sense: good and bad; black and white.
“Family” is a hard word to create a concrete definition for. If one were to ask three random people on the street, it is likely they will receive three completely different answers to defining a family. The textbook definition of family according to the etymology dictionary is: “Origin in early 15c. “servants of a household” from Latin familia “family servants, domestics collectively, the servants in a household.” The traditional dictionary describes family in a more narrow fashion stating, “a basic social unit consisting of parents and their children, considered as a group, whether dwelling together or not.”
