I am studying the unemployment rates in Las Vegas because I want to find out what Las Vegas is doing to lower its unemployment rates. I want to see if the new projects such as the Interstate 11, Las Vegas stadium, and other job openings are actually helping the Las Vegas economy to improve. In order to illustrate how Las Vegas community are adjusting to the unemployment rates, I’m going to use a reference from an article on Brookings.edu that suggested four assets Nevada can do to secure jobs. I’m going to concentrate in two of those which are, building the interstate 11 that will connect Las Vegas to Phoenix. The second is to construct an event center or a stadium, this would bring more tourist and possibly a national sports team. In order to illustrate how these two new projects can help Las Vegas lower its unemployment rates. People reading my paper should care because it is important to know how people feel about this new projects. The second place where I will be focusing on is on the strip, where the stadium is being constructed. My sample will be the workers working on these projects. I want to focus on the workers and see if the number of construction workers have increase. I also want to see if Boulder City will get any more visitors who want to see the interstate 11 being built and how that can improve the economy.
