Laura and Howie’s excursion was an immature action for which they should have been punished. Howies and Laura’s excursion was an immature action because they could have solved the situation easily by going back to the camp and act as if nothing would have happened. Although, I would have also felt mad if some boys would have stripped and marooned me as they did to Howie , Howie and Laura would have just gotten revenge to them and act chill. All the things Laura and Howie did lead to a series of unreasonable events that could have had a better solution and could have ended peacefully. In my opinion, they should have stayed in the camp. Howie and Laura would have had a great chance of snitching on what the campers did to them. If they would have done that, the campers would have gotten in more trouble they were already in for stripping and marooning them in an island. You have to let the adults take care of something that serious. Howie and Laura decided to fix the problem themselves but ended up solving nothing, instead they made things worse. Obviously, the campers would have gotten into trouble because the camp supervisors don’t allow this. Police officers have a really important job to do. They take cases that are really dangerous. Laura and Howie didn’t ever get hurt throughout their “adventure”. I am saying this because it shows how useless their investigation was . It was just a case of two kids running away. At the end, Howie and Laura were going to go back to see their family eventually. The police department made a big case because out of this. I am not saying it was dumb, but what I am trying to say is that the police department could have only sent a couple police officers to the scene. This was a pressured conflict.
