I was excited to see the opening for a 50SW ‘Operations and Support Director’ position. Schriever AFB has been my joy and home for over 11 years. Over the past 18 years, I have developed into the Space Professional that I am today - primarily within the expanding parameter of the base. I have served in the Wing, the Operations Group, and 4 different SOPS. I also have worked with different Wing and Group offices on multiple projects. Finally, I have had the privilege to serve at Schriever AFB as Active Duty, contractor, and Government Civil Servant. Many of the Application Assessment Questions are querying about my experience as a Manager and/or Leader, and the utilization of these ‘leadership’ traits/skills. The majority of these ‘traits/skills’ have been demonstrated throughout my career. To pin-point or reference just one assignment would be an injustice in attempt to capsulate all the lessons learned, failures, struggles, grooming/development, and successes that I have had over the years leading teams and managing projects. I have had many great mentors and leaders that have given me the opportunity to grow into the manager and leader that I am today. I despise micromanagement and apathetic-ness. There are always growing pains within a new team and transitioning members. It is critical that we respect and except one another, and quickly unify as a singular front – hitting the ground running. However, with that said, I have a heart of a servant. This position has been made available to assist the Wing Commander however it may be needed. I am confident that I can offer you the technical and leadership skill sets that you need, and total dedication and commitment as we continue to move forward the 50SW Space Operations into the next generation.
