Leadership in Lord of the Flies.
Leadership can be described as leading a group. By analyzing this message we can learn that a leader guides people, helps them out, and works together. These concepts are emphasized through The Lord of the Flies by Wiilliam Golding. In Lord of the Flies, Jack and Ralph have different ways of leading different ways they show leadership. Ralph's style of leadership and leading is based on logic and reason, while Jack shows leadership by using fear and intimidation. By them Jack and Ralph having different ways they show their leadership this will lead to conflict. In the literary work Lord of the flies by William Golding, the reader is introduced to the character's personality and beliefs. According to the author, Ralph felt himself the center of an uncomfortable attention. He looked at Jack and then at the conch, and then at the tribe. He felt himself to be the only sane person on an island of maniacs'' (Golding 96). The evidence explains that Ralph shows that he is the only sane one in the tribe, therefore he tries to keep the tribe under control. This quote serves as a reminder of how Ralph uses his logic by doing what best and keeping the tribe under control. Hence, it becomes clear that Ralph is trying to keep the tribe settled.

The author claims that, "He's chief. He made the fire. He thought of that, He's chief" (Golding 30). In other words, he makes the fire to try to help the tribe out and get rescued.This point is important because Jack shows he cares and tries to get them off the island. You can also tell the tribe trusts him because they let him make the fire to help them out. Jack also uses fear to intimidate the tribe by telling them that there is a bloodthirsty mystical creature that is trying to get them.
