The first leading event that leads up to the WWII was the 1919 Treaty of Versailles. The terms of the Treaty of Versailles were extremely harsh towards Germany who were blamed for the war. In addition, France and Britain wanted to take revenge to the Germans, and that caused a lot of anger and dissatisfaction for the Germans. Adolf Hitler (1889–1945) that also fought the WWI was really unsatisfied about it, so he decided to do something about it. The following events were when Benito Mussolini (1883-1945), Joseph Stalin (1878–1953) and Hirohito established themselves as Dictators and Emperor of their country (Italy, USSR, and Japan), later Hitler from Germany will become legally the Chancellor of Germany. Britain kept fighting Hitler air forces with Britain's air force and that brought Hitler to backup a little, making him conquer other nations like North Africa. After conquering France and kept the British war in action, Hitler turned his sights to the Soviet Union. Where the targets of his anger lived. Jews, Slavs, and Bolsheviks were the majority of people in the Soviet Union. The Dictator calls the invasion the Operation Barbarossa (June 1940). "the German military assembled the largest and most powerful invasion force in history, attacking with 3.6 million soldiers, thirty-seven hundred tanks, and twenty-five hundred planes. Military contingents from Italy, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, and Finland" (Operation Barbarossa, 1941) The largest military force was unbeatable by man, however, Hitler neglected and did not think about the heavy winter that was about to hit the troops. Germany, without enough equipment and supplies to support the winter suffer the consequence of that mistake and ended up losing a lot of their military power.
