I am like Leo Borlock, a main character from Stargirl , by Jerry Spinelli, in that I share his cowardliness, his possession of integrity, and his lack of need to be the center of attention. For those of you unfamiliar with Stargirl, and Leo Borlock, I will explain why I call Leo cowardly. He backs off almost instantly when he realizes that Stargirl's unpopularity is spreading to him, rather than stand up to the masses. As for me, I avoid the unnecessary challenges, like when I choose to stay at home instead of competing in tennis. Eventually, of course, I end up going, but nonetheless, if it were up to me, it would turn out differently. Another similarity would land in our common possession of a moral compass. Due to the limited number of traits, neither Leo nor I, are pictured to our full extent. While we may share our cowardliness, integrity, and hesitance to be on stage, there are countless differences to be accounted for. While the following paragraph won’t leave you with a perfect image of Leo and me, it will clear things up a little. Like previously mentioned, Leo and I are different Where Leo is self-conscious, impulsive, and open-minded, I am nonconforming, cautious, and slightly close-minded. The following sentences will clarify. I say I don’t share Leo’s pathological need for approval that he shows in the bulletin board incident because I usually try to be as little self-conscious as possible, for example, my tennis racquet is 10 sizes too small, bright red, and practically grip less, but when we line up our racquets, and mine stands out like a clown on wall street, I don’t care. Second, I know I don’t tend to jump into things like Leo does. Where he jumps into a relationship with Stargirl, I try to look ahead as far as I can like when I played a chess match and won, because I could see my opponent would lead themselves into a trap if I acted a certain
