The true definition of honor is “a privilege” or “high respect”. To me honor means having courage to be committed to or feel pride for something or someone, so I guess I’m not that far off. Around the world there are many honorable people and honorable scientists. One scientist is a man famous for his inventions but mostly for his world known art pieces including The Last Supper and the Mona Lisa. He was also the only left handed artist of his time. Leonardo Da Vinci.

Today his journals that have everything he saw documented gives us valuable insight into his life and times. Towards the end of his life Da Vinci suffered from paralysis in his right hand. Although, because of his being left handed he was still able to draw and teach. He produced studies of cats, horses, dragons, St. George, anatomical studies, studies on the nature of water, drawings of the Deluge, and of various machines.
Leonardo Da Vinci died May 2, 1519 in Cloux, France. It is said that King Francis was at his side when he died, cradling Da Vinci’s head in his arms. Da Vinci was an honorable man, an honorable scientist. He was different than many people and his success as a left handed artist is astounding considering the fact that at the time left handed people were often accused of consorting with the devil.
Leonardo Da Vinci is by my definition honorable. He never gave up on what he worked hard to achieve and loved to do. Even if people tell you to give up on a dream you have worked hard to achieve, it is the honorable thing to do for yourself to ignore them and continue doing it if it’s something that won’t hurt you physically, mentally, nor financially if you’re at that age.
