Most people know Leonardo Da Vinci as being painter but he was also a sculptor, architect, engineer, musician, inventor and scientist. Da Vinci was a hard worker and had a creative soul that reflected in all his work. From the Renaissance to present day Leonardo Da Vinci work is still admired and constantly influences people all around the world. Leonardo Da Vinci was one of the most gifted, well rounded artist of the Renaissance. This can been proven through research and collected data.
Leonardo da Vinci did not become the man he is known for today overnight but he controlled his own destiny. Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci was born on April 15th, 1452 in Vinci, Italy. He was what people would consider a bastard child because his parents were not married when he was born. Da Vinci was raised by his father, Messer Piero Fruosino di Antonio da Vinci until the age of five where he was sent to live with his grandparents.
He did not grow up wealthy so he didn’t get a real strong education. Da Vinci taught himself most of the things he knew but one thing that came natural to him was his artistic abilities. When he was 14, he was given the opportunity to broaden his knowledge on “metalworking, leather arts, carpentry, drawing, painting and sculpting”(www.biography.com) with an admired artist of that time, Andrea del Verrocchio. It would be accurate to say that once Da Vinci moved to Milan he had his “big break.” Leonardo Da vinci began making a name for himself by getting acknowledgement from the ruler of Milan, Ludovico Sforza. Ludovico gave da Vinci a job as military engineer and architect. He sketched all kinds of war machine ideas to give Ludovico. Da Vinci worked for Ludovico for almost 17 years.
