People began studying the ‘Classics’, or ancient Rome and Greece. Science, math, and the arts were studied and funded in the hopes of rebuilding Europe’s culture and population. Many great artists spawned from this period of the Renaissance.
Throughout history, art has been very important. The biggest time for art, though, was the Renaissance. Many artists got their start in this era. Some popular artists include Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Leonardo Da Vinci. I believe that all of these people were amazing artists, but Leonardo was the most significant artist of his time.
Vincent Van Gogh is an artist whose work had a far-reaching influence on 20th century. He’s work includes portraits, self portraits, landscapes, and still life of cypresses. In 1881, Van Gogh briefly lived in Etten, where he created a number of drawings of local peasants and laborers performing routine and humble tasks. As you can see in his artwork the man with a broom sweeping on the street lined with pollard willows is an example of characteristic. The outline in his drawing shows a great form of contour line.
The area that I picked was art and the way that Leonardo da Vince had on his perspective by using light, shadows, and his use of colors in his paintings. He built upon the work of other artists and studied the paintings and writings of Leon Battista Alberti. Leonardo spent a lot of years studying and making his own observations of reflected color and how it works to produce the perfect painting. He “tried to resolve the problem of depicting line and color on unified optical principles.” By using color to produce the shadows and give light to his paintings, it gives the viewer a perspective that is more than just paint on a canvas.

Leonardo Da Vinci used many elements to create moods and themes in his paintings. Some of the most apparent and important ones include light and shadow. For example, in his painting “The Last Supper”, he frames Jesus in the center, in a sort of “halo” of light, a common theme in old religious paintings. This draws the eye to the main theme, Jesus Christ.
I know that The Art Institute is a well-known and well-respected school with great teachers who can help me improve and expand my knowledge on photography. Similoluwa Oluwole Professor Bult ART 107 13 November, 2015 Michelangelo and his work: Creation of Adam Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, commonly known as Michelangelo, was born on March 6, 1475 at Caprese, Tuscany now known as Italy (Roger 2). Michelangelo, like Leonardo, was a man of many talents; he was a renowned Florentine sculptor, architect, painter, and poet. He is credited as the founder of the high Renaissance style and considered the most influential of late Renaissance artists (Houston 16). His works exhibit his remarkable understanding of human anatomy and muscular structure, a skill which he used to incorporate emotion and liveliness into his works. He rarely painted landscapes; his subject matters were mostly human,
Salvador Dali, the father of surrealism; many things come to mind when you hear this name, but the one thing that really sticks is his creativity. Of the many things that he has done, one of his most famous works is The Persistence of Memory. It consists of a desert-like landscape and clocks melting over hills and dead trees. Who, other than Dali could come up with anything that mind boggling and surreal? And not only does he paint, he also sculpts, writes, and has worked in the film and theater industry.
. He is a spirit person, which is He has a deep connection with the spirit of God. Jesus was a teacher of wisdom, who used parables and one-liners to teach about the Kingdom of God. He has always been perfect to me. There have never been any flaws that had to do with him.
I am doing my artwork based on Pablo Picasso. Some Pablo Picassos artworks characteristics are multiple shades of one soft color and simplicity. I enjoy his art because Picasso believed that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In his art he has strong passion and I relate to this because I have to put a lot of passion into whatever it is that I do. The way my work varies from Picasso is that I like to use many vibrant colors whereas Picasso liked to use multiple shades of the same soft color.
In order to get a spatially realistic scene, that is, coherent in depth, Leonardo used lines perpendicular to the plane of the picture that converge towards a vanishing point and horizontal lines, obtained by calculating the scale at which they recede back. He wrote and described perspective as being a phenomenon whereby “all objects transmit their image to the eye by a pyramid of lines”. His approach to design the architectural space in The Last Supper is intriguing, that is, the way he organized the figures in relation to the architecture. The reason behind this, is because he arranged the features of the fresco according to musical harmonies.
