Leonardo began his career as an artist by becoming an apprentice to a known sculptor and painter named Andrea del Verrocchio at age 15, and later he continued his career by showing interest in science and nature. Some of the things that I was unaware of about Leonardo da Vinci, besides being a painter and inventor he was an architect and student of all things scientific. When Leonardo is mentioned the things that I do know about him are that he created two famous paintings the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. That there are a couple of movies based off of his theories and inventions and a television show about his life, beyond that he was just a Renaissance Master. Some of the things I did learn were that his father was an attorney and his mother a peasant they were never married and he had 17 half-siblings. He was raised by his uncle who had an appreciation of nature, some think this is where he picked up his connection to science and nature.
