Born in 1452 Leonardo Da Vinci was an illegitimate child meaning he could not go to school, be a merchant, and much much more. One of Leonardo De Vinci’s beliefs was that he should not have been treated differently because of his illegitimate states because it was something out of his control. Because he wanted to be wealthy and could not proceed the normal path to wealth, which was becoming a merchant so he decided he needed to learn on his own. At age 14 Leonardo started his first apprenticeship with Verrocchio, who was a very successful painter during his time.
