She is often trying to be kind and help out others in different ways as well as trying to not hurt herself. We also see her trying to make a bigger difference anyway she can, but she is often making wrong choices and getting into some bad situations. ‘My own sister! It’s so awful. I can suddenly remember all these bad, shameful things, and it’s like they all just happened.’”( Kirtly 7) and also where she erased all her memories after finding this out, “Her wide eyes watched him curiously. He stretched out his hand to her. Corey reached out and gently clutched his fingers. He tried to withdraw his hand, but he wouldn’t let go. He studied her. ‘Corey, talk to me.’ Her eyes were innocent and inquisitive, eyes that were new to the world.” This shows that Corey is foolish because she erased all her memories which made her basically restart life. Corey is often uneasy throughout the entire short story. This first time this is shown is in the beginning where Morgan goes to Corey’s house and they talk about how they got into an argument with each other about memory erasure. Once they started talking about what happened last time Corey quickly became uneasy. “ Corey’s smile vanished. She eyed him with uncertainty. “What?” he said. “It’s just a figure of speech — ‘forget about it.'” Corey shook her head. “No. Not anymore. Nobody just forgets about stuff anymore, not since memory chips. Your choice of words makes me wonder, Morgan. Did you really forget about it?
