She tried out for the Duke football team in 1994 as a walk-on. Since she was unable to make the football team, she ended up helping the team in a position of manager. The Head Coach at the time was Fred Goldsmith and he gave permission to Heather to participate in practices and work out with the other fellow kickers on the team. She also was allowed to participate in the winter and spring conditioning programs, as a manager you should not be allowed to do that. Mercer was asked to participate in the intra-squad scrimmage in April by fellow seniors. During the scrimmage Mercer won the game for her team by kicking a field goal.
This entered her into the Miss America pageant. In the pageant, Heather performed ballet en pointe to Via Dolorosa by memorizing the beats of the music, and she won the talent portion of the contest. Heather was not allowed to have an interpreter or any help in the contest, so she had to talk in order to deliver her message to the audience. Towards the end of the pageant, it was down to Heather Whitestone and Miss Virginia, Culen Johnson. It was announced that Johnson was the first runner up and that Heather had won, and became known as Miss Deaf

A daily activity record ( hour by hour ) is used to monitor activities clients is already doing, to see the frequency of healthy and unhealthy behaviours. (Lejuez, 2001, p. 265). In this phase, the client is encouraged to create an environment, one that promotes healthy behaviours (Lejuez, 2001).
Young Elana’s dream was to be apart of the Olympic Softball team. Elana was a star athlete. She was best at softball, but was still an all- star in other sports. Track and field, soccer, and basketball were some sports she played, other than softball.
It is important to follow any guidelines and leaflets in medication, as this helps the safe administration of all medicines. It is also important to find out if a person has already taken medication prior to the care support worker giving them any. This is to ensure that you do not overdose the individual. A service user usually has a MARS sheet where the medication that is administered in signed off by the care worker that last administered it to them, so that the care support worker can clearly see that last time the medication was administered to service user, and when they are next due to have the medicine.

Emma Daly is an athletic, funny, and extraordinary person. She comes from a big culture, and is half Norwegian. When Emma was little she use to speak fluent Norwegian but as she grew older she lost touch with the language. In her free time, she likes to play soccer, she has been playing since she was 8, and currently plays on Eastern 's women’s team. Soccer and other sports like track and field have lead to numerous injuries including, a broken wrist, torn ligaments in her ankle, and she 's broken her nose twice.

In mental health there are a lot of different roles of different agencies and professionals within the assessments, both of these are for the protection of the service user and service provisions these include mental health services which are set up and run by the NHS organisations as well as some voluntary sectors there are also private companies which are paid for by or commissioned by the NHS. A local GP should be able to recognise a service users symptoms and diagnose the service users symptoms of mental health or psychosis then they should refer the service user to an intervention service were they will then be assessed. These assessments will then be carried out on the service user, which will then provide them with the right services

There are several procedures that help to maintain this health and safety however they can all vary between settings for example, health and safety procedures will be slightly different and more focused on certain areas in hospitals and especially in paediatric ward compared to in drop-in centres where the needs and risk to service users are slightly different. After all of the training sessions, I felt ready to go to a meet. I was extremely nervous, but since Christina was there to help me, my nerves eventually calmed down. Before every race, she would help me and give me advice. After every race, she would come over and congratulate me as well as show me where I could improve.
It’s a good and bad for her to run. It’s bad because she can’t play soccer and she loses all feeling in her legs after one lap. She can also die from her blood pressure gets too high. It’s good because her doctor says “it’s good to run for people with MS.” If she wants to run let her run because she said “I don’t know how much longer I have.”
