The Life of Alice Alice is a normal fifteen year old Caucasian girl; who worries about boy issues, trying to be popular and understanding her family. She writes in her diary to keep herself calm and to have something to express herself. She lives a normal life until she gets into trouble with LSD. Drugs began to change her and bring to places she would have gone without them. Prior to everything in Alice’s life going wrong, she had a fairly normal life with her parents. Like every teenage girl she had trouble understanding what her parents wanted from her. However, her relationship with her parent went down a bumpy road when she started taking drugs. She began running away from home and there were large chucks of time were they didn’t know where she was. But whenever she returned home her parents seemed to be upstanding and still accepted her with open arms. Ever Alice first tried LSD she became enthralled with the feeling of being under the influence. There have been many times in which she says she will quit or that she will no longer do drugs, but not matter what she always goes back. It’s unknown why she actually does this, it could possibly be the people around her or she could just be hook on the experience, but either way she has a major drug issue. All of the issues we see in book are cause by drugs and unfortunately Alice continues to make the same mistakes over and over again. Drugs caused Alice to run away from and this lead to her being abused and raped by her friend’s coworker Shelia. Drugs also led Alice to a mental asylum, where they considered her to be insane. Drugs is main source of Alice and by the end of the book we see that Alice doesn’t overcome her issue with
