Laura Esquivel in the book “Like Water For Chocolate” uses many strategies throughout the book like imagery ,and exaggeration. Both imagery and exaggeration helped develop the tone and the mood ,and set the purpose the passages that were given to us by Esquivel. Esquivel is trying to convey to the readers that you don’t need to be just plain like other writers to have a good story to tell, as she demonstrates in her way of writing and strategies. The use of words that Esquivel uses gives us a better understanding of the strategies being used by the author, and what she is trying to say by using those words. There are many other strategies that Esquivel uses, but exaggeration and imagery have a huge role in the book, and not only in the passage where she describes Nacha, but in others where the food is involved.

To conclude the stories “ Confetti Girl” and “Tortilla Sun” had a lot of tension through the narrators and their parents. The parents in both stories were being strict and had to have the last say. The narrator's were both over reacting in my opinion but to them there feelings were hurt. All in all tension rises through

Formalist Plot You know what they say; you are what you eat! What kind of food you eat and prepare shows a little bit of who you are and in literature it can sometimes be used to convey meaning. In many ways the heart shaped cookies that one makes in february can represent their love for somebody in a way that words can’t. Sometimes we have to recognize that the smallest actions we make can tell a lot about our lives and our stories.
During Christmas, Tan is worrying about how Robert is going react about their culture. Tan’s mom sees that she does not like the culture of her family in front of Robert. Furthermore, her mom does not want her daughter to be ashamed of her family and her culture. Ah done waited uh long time”(120). This shows that she misses him because he has been gone for two days but also the fact that she has waited her whole life for a happy and true marriage like she has with Tea Cake. The novel follows two characters, Saeed and Nadia, as they escape together around the world, teasing each other and learning more about the ideas surrounding sex and its associated pleasure along the way. Through his word choice and character descriptions, Hamid portrays women in his novel as being more sexually inclined than men, taking control of the pleasure they want. It becomes apparent very early on in the novel that Saeed is a very chaste man who wants to refrain from having sexual intercourse with Nadia until marriage. This is witnessed through Saeed’s “a bit excessive a delay” (55, Hamid) in initiating sexual intercourse while in bed with Nadia, and his response of “‘I don’t think we should have sex until we’re married’” (55, Hamid) to Nadia’s comment on whether he brought a condom. However, both characters still explore ways to find pleasure, establishing the idea that direct sexual intercourse is not the only source in which to obtain pleasure.

But now, schools are debating on whether chocolate milk should be provided in schools or not. I strongly believe that chocolate milk should be offered at schools. Chocolate milk is healthy, a great recovery drink, and tasty. One of the reasons is that, chocolate milk is healthy.
Chocolate’s Health Benefits On average, Americans eat 2.8 billion pounds of chocolate each year, that is roughly 11 pounds per person. Imagine how many more people would consume this savory sweet if it was officially healthy. Some do consider properties and ingredients in the chocolate healthy. Others only see the sugar and additives some chocolate contains.
Climate change refers to the long-term change in the earth’s climate due to the increasing average global temperature which is so-called global warming. It is estimated that climate change results in 600000 deaths worldwide every year, 95% of them occurs in the developing countries ( Conserve-Energy-Future, 2013). As catastrophic impact has been substantially created due to climate change, determining the leading causes to this phenomenon becomes a burning issue globally. Although some people suppose natural factors are to blame for negative alterations to the climate, I hold a strong belief that anthropogenic activities through industrialization and agriculture development are the dominant drivers of climate change.
