In the short story "Likes", Sarah Shun-lien Bynum tells a story of a father and his relationship with his young daughter; in which the father is trying to figure out how to communicate with her by looking at her social media constantly. He critiques her choices on her social media posts. Bynum exposes the common feeling some parents have towards their kids on social media, while also showing how things do not have to be seen in such a bad light. Bynum is trying to expose through her main theme that more than a technology problem, it was more of a generational conflict. On the other hand, Jean M.
