First, there were many interesting facts about this movie, but one important fact would be how the actors’ did an incredible job. You could see the excitement and hospitality in the actors eyes. They didn’t make the movie boring and they made it as if we were there with them. They all were experiencing different problems as the film went on. It gives you important information from the past that you didn’t know. You learn more about Lincoln and how he was one of the best presidents. The actor who played Lincoln was Daniel Day-Lewis. She tries to hold it together but she couldn’t hold it in for that long. Lincoln’s youngest son Tad was like normal young boys, energetic and full of imaginations. Lincoln deals with a lot in these years, but he does his best. While he is trying to pass this amendment, he had many parties and speeches on top of taking care of his family. In the movie, Lincoln said “The part assigned to me is to raise the flag which, if there be no fault in the machery, I will do. And, when up, it shall be for the people to keep it up. That’s my speech.” Abraham Lincoln uses this metaphor to show that he will fight to keep the Emancipation Proclamation and secure the 13th amendment but it is up to the people to agree on the fact that “all men are created equal”. At one of the meetings, multiple men were against the 13th amendment. At the final meeting, congressmen voted for or against this amendment. Roll call was taken until they got the final majority answer. Lincoln arrives to meet with the Confederates to make a compromise after the amendment was passed.
