Frances Perkins, a survivor from the Shirtwaist Factory Fire quotes “Moved by this sense of stricken guilt, we banded ourselves together to find a way by law to prevent this kind of disaster.” Frances Perkins became secretary of Labor under President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and this quote said by Perkins “something must be done. We’ve got to turn this into some kind of victory, some kind of constructive action,” helped new workplace safety standards into law in the state of New York. The benefits that I would like the audience to see is how workplace safety is important by learning about the history of regulation, OSHA, and workers compensation.
Texas Roadhouse is an all American restaurant that serves a variety of delicious dishes. Texas Roadhouse is by far the best restaurant in Columbus, Indiana due to it’s environment, delicious mid-priced meals, and the hospitality of employees. The first thing that attracts customers to a restaurant is the appearance and environment of that restaurant. Texas Roadhouse is a western-style restaurant that is perfect for any lunch or dinner. The Texas Longhorn was a decedent from the Spanish cattle introduced about two-hundred years earlier. They adapted to the harsh climate, tough prairie grasses, and scarce food and water that some animals could not adapt to. These breed of cattle are known for their unique color, and their huge horns which can grow up to seven feet long. By 1865, about five million roamed the Texas grassland.
“When the world says give up hope whispers try it one more time.” Tim Tebow Sometimes in life things happen that you have no control over, and can cause a roadblock in life that you just can 't get over. That is what happened to me. One day I goggled inspiration quotes and that one came up. I didn’t know who Tim Tebow was or what he did so I researched him.
5 minutes before kickoff, the high powered lights beaming down on the turf, and everyone in the whole entire stadium could feel the tensions rising between the two teams. Everyone in the country waiting to see what kind of show the two top rated running backs had in store for them in this years super bowl. All of the best running backs in the NFL share very similar qualities. Every superior running back knows how to use their talent to make the most out of it and make a ton of big plays. First and foremost, all great NFL running backs need to be fast in order to be top rated in the National Football League.
Rodeo has helped me grow up. Since third grade I went from going to rodeos with my family to chasing the white lines on my own. I have had numerous opportunities presented to me from rodeo such as being on tv for qualifying for Worlds, traveling all the way to New Mexico and Wyoming to compete, and being rodeo queen for Southern Indiana Junior Rodeo Association. My parents took care of my horses for me. They cleaned stalls, fed them day and night, and packed the trailer for each rodeo.
I am doing a debate on whether or not football punters deserve more credit than they get. I think the punters definitely deserve more credit they are always overlooked and they do the same amount of practice as the rest of the football team. i think that punters are overlooked in football because they just play when they punt and to score a field goal. what most people don 't consider is that they practice with everybody else they are also on the field as much as some of the players.
The art of roping has been around for years and years. It is a skill that has been passed down from generation to generation. Around 150 years ago, this skill was widely known and used in the U.S.A. Cowboys roamed the plains gathering, chasing and branding cattle. They did all this with a rope in their hand or around a set of cow’s horns. Eventually cowboys wanted to test their skills against neighboring cowboys and that is how rodeos were born.
Alec Michaud Mr. Bergmann Sophomore Honors English II P6 10 October 2016 Lambeau Field, a Mark on History The ground below is rattling to the thunderous beat of rambunctious spectators with the anticipation of the battle that is set to be fought on this very field! The senseless chaos ceases as a loud roar erupts from the stands as the Green Bay Packers emerge from the tunnel. “With 13 super bowl rings and 53 postseason appearances it’s easy to say that Green Bay is one of the most dominant teams in the NFL” (Packers team Records). The iconic team has many notable attributes that set them apart, but one of the most recognizable is there historic stadium, Lambeau Field.
Punters are football players too. Punters are considered specialty players and mostly play when the offense goes three and out or on kickoffs if the team’s kicker doesn’t have enough leg power. Their main job is to kick the ball far enough so that he can get it far enough downfield and pin the other team deep in their own territory. Think of the punter as the guy whose job it is to land an approach shot on the green. A lot of people have said they shouldn’t be playing or even consider to be called athletes.
Keeping well known athletes is a job for the athletic trainer. For instance, Athletic trainers recognize injuries and evaluate how to resolve the injury and they range from pee-wee sports all the way to the professional level of sports. Being an Athletic Trainer requires knowledge about the human body, social skills to speak to the patients and coaches, and responsibility skills. They have also helped the UK become one the countries with the lowest accident rates in the world. However it hasn’t completely stopped the amount of workplace accidents. “Over 200 people are killed each year at work in the UK and over 150,000 are injured. Two million people suffer from illnesses that have been caused, or made worse, by their work” (Aldworth, 2010)
Driving down the road, a lineman is on a bucket truck fixing a telephone pole. This sparked a curiosity in my mind on how they do their job without getting hurt. Linemen work on, maintain, and build electrical power systems. The people working can be be electrocuted, blown-up, catch fire, fall off, and more. These people don’t get a lot of recognition in the news, but we would be lost without them.
Safety at the workplace will also help to lower down costs by curtailing off insurance costs, lost costs and legal fees. These costs could be incurred if the safety of the
