The Beastie Boys. Need I say more? When most think of the rambunctious rap group from that came straight out of the 1980’s, they think about girls, partying, crude humor and maybe some music in between. Although The Beastie Boys as a group did a few things that had never been done before in music history. Thats pretty incredible considering nobody expected something so revolutionary to come from three middle class white jewish kids from New York.

Written and directed by Victoria Mahoney, Yelling to the Sky is the story of seventeen-year-old Sweetness O’Hara (Zoë Kravitz), surrounded by a deteriorating family and a challenging and convoluted crime-infested neighbourhood. Sweetness is the daughter of a biracial couple; a manic-depressive, ferocious, alcoholic, white father and a discreet, miserable, black mother and is subjected to racism both from the black and white sides as well as constant bullying at school. Throughout this ordeal, her older sister is always there to protect her. However, at one point, when her older sister leaves the house to go give birth, Sweetness converts from the bully’s victim to being the bully herself. It feels as if turning corrupt was her only option,
Rock and roll hall of fame foundation was established in 1983 to recognize the influence and contribution of artists to the development, evolution and perpetuation of rock and roll. The artists become eligible after 25 years from the release of their first record. Over the years, the induction committee of the rock and roll hall of fame has recognized various artists and influential acts. In my supposition, the smashing pumpkins should have been inducted already not only because of their incredible performances but also for meeting the induction criteria of releasing its first record in 1990. The smashing pumpkins is an alternative rock band from Illinois in Chicago, in its original incarnation, it was made up of Billy Corgan as the lead

Recently on TAM airlines a 50 year old called for the air hostess when she realised she had been seated next to a black man. For my interview, I spoke with an employee of the Carmike Cinema in Vestavia. He asked that I use a pseudonym when referring to him in this assignment, so I will refer to him as Jared. He began working at the theater in June and had recently completed the training program over the last two weeks. A typical shift for Jared involves working at one of three stations: concessions, box office, and floor. In concessions he is responsible for taking and filling customer orders, making popcorn, and stocking supplies.
