Saul Bass was born on May 8th 1920 in New York City of the great Unites States of America. This was a very sad time to be born considering America was going through the great depression but none the less he was brought upon this earth as a decedent of Jewish immigrants. He attended High school in the Bronx and studied part time in the Art Student League. After attending college he moved to Hollywood in the hopes of becoming a great artist in the movie industry. While living in Hollywood he did a lot of work in small film ads that built his reputation in the title sequence industry. His first bigtime movie shot was givin to him in 1954 when he designed the poster for Carmen Jones after designing the poster he was asked to design the title sequence.
