I was thinking more as long-term benefits if I were to transfer to a different establishment and have that as a useful polished skill; however, I was assigned to the sauté position. Although I had no experience as a cook; nonetheless, for a professional company with paying customers, I sought out to learn as much as I could during training to perform the best I could in my new position. It turned out to be less difficult than my expectations because it required more basic instructions and repetitive practice than anything. I had to memorize the menu, ingredients for each dish, how to read the orders, and most importantly the process of cooking the dish itself. Due to my job literacy research, I knew the basics of cooking, such as how to flip a pan, add broth and oil, the variants of pasta, and the preparation time for the dishes. All I had to learn were the ingredients for each dish, the variants of sauces, and skills that would make my job much easier especially during rush hour. In less than a week, I had a pretty good grip on the job and its requirements, the repetitions allowed me to further expand my skills throughout the kitchen as a whole. Thus, I was able to acquire experience in the positions of dishes, expo, grill, and determinately as a
