Inspiring Documentary that shows the reality of rural poverty. Four young men leave their comforts on the road to experience living with only one dollar a day, which is the reality of 1.1 billion people on Earth. They have travelled to a village named Peña Blanca, in Guatemala and lived there facing all the restrictions that underprivileged people struggle every single day. It was an astonishing look into the life of poor Guatemalans, but it gives awareness not only to Peña Blanca but also to all poverty around the globe. “Living on One Dollar” also provides people with numerous lessons and reminders of things that are usually taken for granted, the movie utters a whole heap about what is affordable at the community with the average dollar a day that these people make. An outstanding part to me is how individuals from Peña Blanca cannot afford to eat anything other than tortillas and salt to feed themselves and all its families. …show more content…

The main characters are also the directors, thus it is clear that they have directly expressed in the movie not only their visions of how things were back there, but also all the feeling and affection regarding the natives of Peña Blanca, what makes it yet more heartrending.
