They are basically divided into economic and non-economic groups. I also agree today’s politics are too much about who has more money to campaign and advertise. Individual can also play a vital role as they can contribute a bit from their sides as much as they can. 5 If an interest group donates a lot of money, to a candidate, they are going expect something in return. It was founded in 1880, the largest democratically run, member controlled, professional organization in the world. The staffs of this association works with the governmental agencies and legislature like the State Board of Education and provide genuine assistant and member advocacy. The state comptroller's office collected $6 million in dues from more than 45,000 state employees in the 2016 fiscal year, according to a report by the State Affairs committee (Pruner). More than 50 teachers and other state workers also spoke in the Capitol last month against Sen. Joan Huffman's Senate Bill 13.(Pruner). Similarly, the Bill HB 16 has also been passed which is related to sexual assault, family violence, and stalking at public and private postsecondary educational institutions. We have lot of these kinds of interest groups like Texas Hospital Association Political Action Committee, Heritage Alliance, Texas Public Employee Association, etc. 6 So, groups attempt to influence policy in different ways including lobbying government. Organized interests hire representatives to advocate on behalf of the group's interests. Likewise some of the interest groups encourage their board members and other people to be in contact with the legislators on the behalf policy position the group advocates. So, lawmaking has been influence buy these interest groups and lobbying in different forms.
