In “How to Handle a Bully,” by Kathiann Kowalski, an experienced journalist, Kowalski reports the different strategies to stop bullying. She informs that bullying is at its peak in the late teenage years, but can start in an early age. Kowalski concurs that girls intimidates as much as boys; however, they do it differently. She explores many reasons why bullying occurs at the first place, and who starts bullying. Kowalski exemplifies the situations that victims could be in, and the solution on how to handle the bully.
Bullying’s Impact Analysis Bullying has become a prevalent social issue among teenagers, and its consequences can be devastating to a teen's mental health. In the novel Speak, the main character Melinda goes through the struggles of the aftermath of sexual assault at a summer party before her freshman year of high school. Throughout the book she also deals with bullying and that heavily impacts her behavior and the way she responds, as well as the way she thinks and views herself . While Speak shows what it is like to be the target of bullies, the article “I Used to be a Bully and Why I stopped” shows the perspective of a former bully, the author of this article gives the reader more understanding about bullying from a former bully’s perspective.
The movie does not exactly enlighten all the issues that adolescents are going through, but it provides a story of a boy who overcame the things that were holding him back. This movie can be used as a motivation for others who are dealing with similar situations. Conclusion Adolescents experience a large amount of change including puberty, high school, and romantic relationships.

Bullying is an undesirable, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves actual disparity of power. According to Megan Brooks bullying is a serious public health problems, with significant short-and long-term psychological consequences for the child who is bullied and the child who is the bully. He used to call me mean names when we walked passed each other as he shoved me like it was on accident, even though I knew he did it on purpose and that he intended to hurt my feeling. One day he would say he was my friend if I gave him an answer or two but the next he would act like nothing even happened the day before. He treated me like I was trash left to be feeling like I was the only person in this world that had a “Friend” like that.
Schools with effective approaches educate their students on bullying, and create strict guidelines to follow with serious consequences if not followed. Granada Hills Charter High School has a strong anti-bullying policy, where students are required to adhere to a series of rules which strictly enforce bullying. Should a bully be present, the school enforces strict “disciplinary action if the bullying action negatively affects the school environment, the victim’s attendance, the victim’s feelings about him- or herself, and/or the learning experience” (Granada Hills Charter High School). If a student were to experience these effects, then the bully would be held to specific consequences such as counseling, detention, a parent-student dean conference, referral to school police with possible arrest, suspension, or recommendation for expulsion. The University of North Carolina conducted a systematic review of different anti-bullying policies, and concluded that “anti-bullying policies might be effective at reducing bullying if their content is based on evidence and sound theory and if they are implemented with a high level of fidelity” (Hall).
Suicide and Self-harm is one of the main leading causes in youth deaths in today 's society. The thought of ending his or her life is one of the thoughts developing in teenagers’ minds around the globe. There are many reasons to why a person will put their life at risk, such as stress, depression, loss of a loved one, or being bullied. Constant use of drugs or alcohol is also another leading cause to a person to have suicidal thoughts/actions. Suicide is not the way to go, there are plenty of other options to overcome suicidal thoughts or actions.
Bullying in Schools What seems fun and harmless for some students, is painful and degrading to others. Bullying has been a critical issue around schools, but before it was not as dangerous and know as it is now. These do not means bullying was not happening, it means it was not taken into consideration by parents or teachers. They thought it was just peer pressure or a kids game, and sooner or later the kids would be friends again. At one point, bullies think it’s normal to be mean and abusive to other students.

Bullying or peer victimization is now recognized as a complex and pervasive problem (Beran, 2009). It is an ongoing problem that is not restricted by age, race, gender or class. This behavior generally takes one of four forms, physical such as assault, verbal which involves threats or insults, social which entails exclusion or rumor spreading, and cyber which includes aggressive texts or social network posts
