Poverty was a big thing in the story in mice and men, same goes with the Great Depression no one knew what to do and couldn't control it or stop it.John Steinbeck’s novella, of Mice and Men, about isolation and loneliness, can affect life choices with all aspects of life social emotional, and professional. The characters in Mice and Men have different emotions and half of the characters feel isolated and lonely. "None of them guys is goin' on to leave that tenement. Why can't I talk to nobody. I get awful lonely." Lennie said "Well, I ain't supposed to talk to you or nothing." "I get lonely," she said "You can talk to people but I can't talk to nobody." Pg 86-87. " A guy goes nuts if he ain't got nobody. Don't make no difference who the guy is, long's he's with you I tell ya." he cried, " I tell ya a guy gets to lonely an' gets sick." Pg 72-73.
