Have you ever wondered how trading came to be? Today I will answer this question.

Trade started in the second century BC when civilizations wanted others things, peacefully. The route originated from Chang 'an in the east and ended at the Mediterranean in the west, linking China with the Roman Empire. (A- Map)

The trade started because other civilizations wanted goods from others. Instead of war they decided to trade with each other. Some citie would exchange spices for food, or the very desirable silk for special horses. All cities were connected by the Silk Road.

One day the Chang 'an empire wanted something from someone 's else, but did not want to fight. Instead, they offered something for what they wanted, and trade was created. Others caught on to the idea, and a path slowly began to form as horses and camels treaded on it for thousands of years.

Trading with others was not easy. Travelers would have to cross the hot Taklamakan Desert. Others would have to go over mountain ranges. Many would get lost for they heard voices of Spirits and Goblins. (C-Taklamakan Desert)
