Bullying is something many people experience in this generation. Approximately 160,000 teens reportedly skip school every day because they are bullied, and 1 in 10 teens drop out of school due to repeated bullying. 83 percent of girls, and 79 percent of boys report being bullied either in school or online. I think that we should try to stop bullying today. One reason is because it can cause long lasting impressions on people and it can cause long lasting affects on people. In this paper I will tell you some types of bullying, and effects on people's life. I will also tell you why they decide to bully and why they do it. Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Verbal bullying, or bullying with cruel spoken words, involves ongoing name-calling, threatening, and making disrespectful comments about someone's attributes appearance, religion, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, etc. An example would be when a child says to another child, "You're really, really fat, and so is your mom." Another type is physical, bullying with aggressive physical intimidation, involves repeated hitting, kicking, tripping, blocking, pushing, and touching in unwanted and inappropriate ways.
