he lord of the Flies is a story about savagery, a story about boys without any laws or rules, and how people can be absolute animals. Sigmund Freud created a thing he called the “structural mind” Consisting of the: moralising superego, realistic ego, and the instinctual id, the id seems to be a very prominent subject of the book as the boys become complete savages over the course of the book. Jack represents the id, you can tell this just from the way his attitude is to running the tribe, violence, while on the opposite side of the spectrum there is Ralph, who tries to set up rules for the tribe, make shelter, and generally keep the peace, whilst jack scares the group with the threat of the beast, which events in Simon's death. g) Piggy
